7th-8th Dec
3 hours of air flight to Manila Airport...wah seh their toilets in the capital airport CMI like the toilets we have here in our kopitiams...met up with Rudi our coordinator over at Philippines...then the 2nd part of the travelling...a fricking 3hrs ride in a coach...but on the way we caught alot of scenaries...the first part looks like JB...den after getting out of Manila...many run-down buildings and slums came into sights and of course natural views like imba-ly big volcanoes and streams...the coach suddenly swerve into a run-down building..(everyone: if this is the hotel i'll faint)...the coach stops...(everyone: we are only stopping here for a break)...Rudi: okae guys let's get off...(everyone: KNNBCCB)...yea so u can roughly imagine the state of the hotel...nigel and i have actually urgent business to do with the toilet bowl...but when we saw the state of the rooms...the sai like automatically kena absorbed back into the rectum lol...our room was linked to wilson and teerapong room...we quickly unpacked and set off to St. Dominic Village...during the 15 minutes ride there on a jeepney(a damn cute vehicle which functions like half a bus and half a taxi)...we came across this super strong smell dat smells like super chao da stuff and according to nigel...it is a cookie which kena an atomic bomb LOL...
we were greeted by super bumpy roads and lovely kids..the village looks v peaceful...with a coconut trees plantation on one side and a giant mountain on the other...we were brought to a chapel for briefing...it is actually used as a multi-purpose area for the village events..Gerald the one in-charge of building quickly brief us on our roles and we set off for a half-day work...we were introduced to the construction tools...cement-mixing machine, shovels, wheelbarrows, and yea last but not least a near 2m metal rod with a metal chunk attached below to loosen soil...and it became lengendary after it was named by us as a zam-mer..cause it's supposed to zam (z-arm) into the ground...half of the group went to lay the floor on a half-completed house with cement while the other half went to start the foundations of a playground for the village kids...the area is about a basketball court size one for the 200 kids in the village...we level the ground, lay bricks for the boundaries and yes zam the ground for a trench...super shag la construction work without machines
went back to the hotel after work...den the super imba smell came on the way and Rudi explains that it is the smell of coconut oil being processed...suddenly the hotel appears to comfy to us after we had seen wad conditions the villagers are living in...nabei we still got air-con can...after freshening up...we went for dinner with some of the local authorities at a restaurant..food was nice but philippinos like to have alot of salt in their food...den we had a singing session which daniel totally melt the hearts of the "aunties" there with his christmas songs lol...the rest of us jus stone la basically...den we went back to the hotel for some night games in nigel and my room which after the night known as the multi-purpose room cause every night people will come to our room for night activities...yew yee our dearest adult volunteer introduce us to this game called the drinking game...by the end of the game our bladders all cannot maintain lol

we had this house presentation ceremony to five new families joining the village and our team has the pleasure of being the presentors..we presented the house keys, bibles and light candles to let them follow the way of God...and had great fun as the whole village was out for this event
